Urban Street Scenes with Ian McManus

We were delighted to welcome professional watercolour artist Ian McManus, known for his beautifully atmospheric paintings.

At two inspiring, well-attended workshops, Ian guided us step-by-step through creating an urban streetscape — from sketching perspective and finding a focal point, to building atmosphere through tone and limited colour. Using soft washes of neutral tint, cobalt blue, and light red, Ian showed how subtle details, figures, and splashes of turquoise bring movement and life to the scene.

His enthusiasm, skill, and patient encouragement made both sessions a real treat — thank you, Ian!
