Life model -Thur 16th April, 2026

An enjoyable afternoon was spent by approximately twenty four DAS members at the life drawing session on Thursday. Model Emily the Muse was very professional and adopted a series of clothed poses for us to draw.

We started with a couple of five minute poses, followed by a fifteen minute pose, for which Emily wore a striking red swimsuit and matching vintage sunglasses.

Next, she changed into a purple minidress with matching tights, topped off with a jauntily angled black beret and we had several longer poses, allowing us to develop our sketches a bit further. Lastly, she changed into a pretty checked dress, which of course threw up the dilemma of whether to attempt to paint this, or to try and simply create an impression.

Members worked in a variety of materials, ranging from pencil and charcoal, to watercolour, line and wash and even acrylic paint. Everyone was totally absorbed in their work and the afternoon flew by most pleasantly.
