Landscape painting in oil with Jim Power

On Friday 11th April ‘25, a full house of enthusiastic DAS members attended an “Oil Painting” day under the tutorage of Mr Jim Power.

We were tasked with “having a go” at one of Jim’s paintings “Hen Fen” and we were each furnished with a photocopy of the original.

As a lover of plein air, I personally found it quite a challenge to work from a photo of a painting - but in usual DAS fashion everyone rose to the challenge and in their unique ways put their own spin on a traditional scene.

It is always great to have the opportunity to spend the day with such lovely people and I’m sure we all look forward to our next challenge and opportunity to learn.
