'ABSTRACTED WORKS' hosted ELIZABETH WEST

Elizabeth ran a very inspirational and enjoyable session, focusing on abstracted works. We learnt how to extract lines and shapes from existing paintings and photographs applying the shapes in continuous pen lines to paper.

Elizabeth explained how, using a view finder, to look at elements of the new picture together with turning the image can create a completely new scene. She demonstrated with roof top lines, when turning the paper round formed abstract shapes more suggestive of boats.

DAS members explored playing with shapes, lines, view finders and different orientations to create and express abstracted works of their own.
