Susan Boddy
Susan Boddy has a long standing relationship with the Dedham Art Society, as a regular visiting artist/tutor facilitating watercolour workshops for our members for many years.
In 2023, Susan decided to retire from running her own workshops and her students were going to loose their regular painting base. Our Society was struggling with low membership numbers and without hesitation Susan encouraged her students to join the society as her own regular workshops came to an end.
It was a perfect union. Susan’s students found a ‘new home’ with like minded artists and our society benefited from an over night injection of active and enthusiastic artists.
This influx of new members combined with our existing loyal members formed the basis of the co-operative style of membership we have today.
The Society continues to grow. Our membership is now full and we are very grateful for Susan’s generosity and support.
Susan is an accomplished artist who has enjoyed painting in watercolour for over 25 years. She mainly paints landscapes, seascapes and town scenes but more recently has started working on birds. Watercolour is a fascinating and very exciting medium and continues to inspire her as she experiments with new techniques.
Susan is influenced by Mike Chaplin, Joseph Zbukvic, Ann Blockley Soraya French and the great masters - Seago, Wesson and Turner.
Although retired, Susan is available for workshops and demonstrations in East Anglia.
