Helen Morgans

Helen is a well known and highly respected East Anglian Artist
Helen learned and developed her artistic skills through her mother, the well-known artist, Phyllis Morgans who was a member of the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Art and an Honorary Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Painters (Painter/Stainers Company).

A member of both the Dedham Arts Group and the Colchester Art Society, Helen exhibits her paintings throughout Essex and Suffolk. Her work has been accepted by galleries further across East Anglia and exhibited in London.

Her favoured method of painting is to use her sketchbook en-plein air and then to paint the relevant scene on a larger scale back in her studio. Helen is also an art tutor and demonstrator having undertaken numerous commissions for her distinctive landscapes, seascapes, townscapes and for her portraiture.

At our October 2017 exhibition in St Mary's Church Dedham, Helen's painting "Sharing a Secret" was voted the most popular painting for which a prize was awarded her together with our trophy. In 2019 Helen won the DAS trophy.
