DAS Plein Air ~ Pin Mill -Saturday 15 August

PIN MILL – SATURDAY 15TH AUGUST 2026 🎨

Saturday was our monthly Dedham Art Society plein-air meet-up, this time at beautiful Pin Mill.

After weeks of blazing sunshine, the slightly cooler weather was very welcome! Around ten of us met for coffee at the Butt & Oyster before heading off to find our subjects for the morning.

And there was certainly plenty to choose from: the pub and neighbouring gallery, colourful cottages, river views through the woods and rickety wooden jetties.

Between us there were pens and watercolours, acrylics, oils and pencils in action, all with plenty of swans wandering around to keep us company.

A few people ventured deep into the woods in search of the perfect view, while one unfortunate artist was caught out by the incoming tide and dropped her canvas in the marsh! Thankfully, both artist and artwork survived the adventure.

As always, it was a really friendly, relaxed morning with lots of chatting and painting, and some of us returned to the pub for lunch together afterwards.
