DAS Plein Air ~ Norwich -Saturday 19 September
Dedham Vale Vineyard Plein Air Day 🎨🍇
What a wonderful day we spent at Dedham Vale Vineyard on Saturday.
All our plein air days are special, but Saturday seemed to have that little bit of extra magic. On reflection, I think much of that was down to the setting. Basking in the last of the autumn sunshine, we really didn’t have to travel far to find such an idyllic place to paint.
This isn’t the first time Dedham Art Society has visited the vineyard, but the new owners, Laurissa and Pierre, have created such a warm and hospitable environment. We were made to feel very welcome and were able to take advantage of their lovely wine and coffee bar while we painted.
There was inspiration everywhere, from the vineyard landscape to the grapes still hanging on the vines, which several of our members enjoyed capturing in their work.
Take a look through some of the wonderful work created by our members during the day — each capturing their own view of this very special setting. 🎨
Art and the vineyard seem to be a natural pairing. Several of our members have previously taken part in the vineyard’s ‘Art in the Vines’ event, and we were delighted to discover that one of their wines has even been named ‘The Painter’s Light’. Rather appropriately, the 2024 rosé is also a silver medal winner at the 2026 Essex Wine Awards. We thought the bottle deserved a place amongst our photographs from a day spent painting amongst the vines! 🍷🎨
Another very special day of painting, friendship and enjoying our beautiful local countryside.
Thank you, Laurissa and Pierre, for making us so welcome. 🍇☀️
